Bespoke Faceted Roof Lantern | Lonsdale SpanGard Glazing System

Rooflights & Atriums Ltd were appointed to deliver a bespoke architectural roof glazing installation at Windmill Lane in Warrington, featuring a striking faceted glazed roof lantern utilising the Lonsdale SpanGard patent glazing system.

The project centred around the design, supply and installation of a geometrically complex roof lantern, incorporating multiple glazed facets to create a distinctive architectural feature while maximising natural daylight into the building below.

Unlike conventional pitched rooflights, the faceted design required careful consideration of glazing geometry, structural interfaces and the precise alignment of individual glazing bars and glass panels to achieve a seamless, high-quality finish.

The Lonsdale SpanGard system was selected for its versatility, durability and suitability for bespoke roof glazing applications, allowing the complex roof geometry to be achieved while maintaining effective weatherproofing and a refined architectural appearance.

Particular attention was given to the junctions between adjoining roof facets, glazing tolerances, drainage and integration with the supporting structure, ensuring the completed installation delivered both visual impact and long-term performance.
